I want to take a moment and thank you for your support of our organization. Our first year was extremely successful as your card membership monies and participation allowed us to give financially to our colleges and our athletes. We finished with over 300 clubs and 6000+ members in the first year. In addition we sanctioned over 140 local events and 14 major events in the state. These numbers should all grow in year two. Here are a few highlights of where your monies went last year:




College Support
CSUF- Our Americas Cup event in June of 2010 hosted athletes from NJ, NV, MI, and 6 regional CA teams that battled it out with CA taking home the cup. The gate procedes were $4200 which was donated to CSUF. SCWAY charged our athletes nothing for participation and gave them singlets and shirts free of charge.

Fresno City College worked tables at SCWAY K-8 state and was paid $4200 for there services.

CSUB- The roadrunner program hosted SCWAY the future and SCWAY administered, marketed and covered the expenses of the event. CSUB netted over $3500 from the event. We also purchased a block of fight for wrestling tickets and attended the Steve Neal fundraiser. Total purchases were that went directly to CSUB for those additional events were over $3000. In addition SCWAY is currently supporting the coyote clubs golf event.

SCWAY was a table sponsor for the NWCA All Star event donating over $1000 and purchasing a block of additional tickets for our members.

SCWAY also sponsored a hole for Cal Poly Golf invitational for $1000.

Athlete Support
SCWAY subsidized the following trips

MI Summer Trip in 2010 and 2011 in which over 100 athletes traveled to MI to wrestle in events against teams from PA, OH, IL, IN, MI, KY and TN. The trip cost athletes $350 or less and included airfare, hotel, singlets, and all tournament fees. The athletes also went canoeing, to Granville beach and participated in BBQ's and exchange events.

AZ Kickoff event at Embry Riddle was a great trip in which 80 athletes spent a few days in AZ and wrestled in a dual event. The cost for gear (singlets, shirts and shorts) , hotel for two nights and travel was less than $100.

SCWAY sponsored over 40 athletes to either NHSCA Nationals or FLO Nationals to the tune of $9600

SCWAY sent a Junior high team to MI in which they wrestled before the Penn State/ Michigan State dual against the MI dream Team. The athletes got a campus tour of Michigan State University, met Cael Sanderson, and wrestled in the NUWAY National Duals. Total Cost was $350 per athlete which included everything.

SCWAY sent two teams to Oregon for the ORWAY brawls for less than $100. That included singlets, hotel, transportation, and entry.

SCWAY sponsored teams to the Arbor View duals in Las Vegas, NV

In year two we look to grow and increase this support to athletes, clubs, and colleges around the state of CA. Our goal was to give more to our athletes and colleges and while in 2010-2011 we made an admirable impact in year two with your support we hope to do even more.
